Tomorrow begins the work.  The job.  The toil.  The labor.  The incessant monotony that is most of the world's life.  Right now I await the Simpsons.  In the morning I will await 6pm when then final whistle blows and I can return home.  Right now, as you read this that has already happened.  But not yet to me now.

Today, before the drudgery takes hold tomorrow, I thought it suitable to go check out the new 35mm print of  Orson Welles' "The Trial" playing at the Nuart, and I did.  The shots of row after row of people tediously typing away at the days work put me in the proper frame of mind to take on training at Earth Link which I've already done now.  Later I watched "Rope" on video.  In the movie Jimmy Stewart plays Mariln Manson who is briefly tortured by the possibility that he may have caused two boys to commit a horrible deed like shoot up Columbine High or something, but he quickly realizes that anyone capable of acts like the one commited would have been capable of it regardless of what he ever said, that it was something deep down inside that was already there and was borne not through his words but long ago in the boys themselves became evident to him in the end.  Both are great films.  I've just never been to sure about (spoiler) Anthony Perkins blowing up at the end of "The Trial."  Couldn't there have been a better, somewhat more powerful ending?  Let me be the last to harp on Welles, but did he really want to have Perkins blow up?

Today was orientation and as most orientations go was pretty unremarkable.  Now that I'm thoroughly, 100%, oriented I can look forward to two weeks of training and two weeks of assissted calls before having to be confronted with the onslaught of customer calls all alone.  Earth Link is quite a bit quicker than the yokels at Teletech.  They have given me my access card, photographic badge (see below), free Earth Link account, much tea and many donuts.  I don't know what to do with the free account.  Any ideas?  I think I'll store 10mb worth of files on their server because I can.  I don't know how I'll fill 10mb.

Where did the Christmas colors go?  I'll try to make things a little X-messy tomorrow.
